Updates included a very very comfortable bed. Excellent, caring staff. Large number of people were checking in and the staff was bombarded with requests by many guests, including me. They stayed cool under pressure and got everything I needed done quickly and with great goodwill. 4 stars instead of 5 because my carpets were badly stained with red splatters, toilet was badly discolored but clean. The tub had non-slip adhesive dots which were stained gray, and the bathroom floor had a patina of grease on it. All fixable.

This hotel has always provided a great guest experience. I have stayed here a few times and what I like the most is the quality of the rooms and bathroom, the showers are large and spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly and they also offer a tremendous amount of guest accommodations, a very welcoming atmosphere. The lobby is always very clean and the meeting and conference room areas are always kept tidy. The maintenance on site is very swift to handle any issues in that area, and they do a wonderful job of keeping up the appearance on the outside of the hotel. The back of the hotel offers a nice seating area with modern seating that allows for a good sized group of people to enjoy some beer, snacks, etc. there is however one area in the very far back of the hotel which has a large pile of mattresses just sitting there—I am assuming these are surplus worn out beds that require removal—it would be nice to see that area cleared out and maybe The mattresses donated to charity or to a local rehab facility/woman’s shelter/ men’s shelter. Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend and I will defenitly plan on staying at this hotel again in the future.

Good hotel for the price. Cheapest hotel yet and I would give it a 8/10. There was some things that were a little run down and could use some upkeep but overall great value. Beds comfy, breakfast was great and hotel staff very friendly. Oh and room in the back parking g lot for our semi/trailer. Hotel decor was upscale which didn't surprise me being a former Red Lion. The outside was really run down tho and poor signage. Could use an update there Overall great place to lay your head.

This was our 1st good experience at any hotel in San Angelo. We’ve been coming down for 10 years for the holidays and choose a different hotel each time to find a better experience, not anymore. The room was super clean , smelled great at the staff was amazing. The breakfast was hot and good , not just cold cereal and week old doughnuts, were talking eggs , sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, muffins and of coarse, cold cereal... checkout went smoothly and no annoying hold on my credit card . Overall this has been the best hotel we’ve stayed in and look foreword to staying again.

The service was phenomenal. I had a very poor experience with another hotel and cancelled my reservations last minute. The Red Lion was able to get me in immediately and although check in wasn’t until 3, they let me check in early which was a HUGE relief with the awful day I had been having. The lady on the phone was the sweetest, Diane I believe. The ladies behind the front desk were so kind. I was SO pleased with the service. As I’ve said like 6 times already. The room was nice, our bathroom sink was clogged after we used it once, but the ladies behind the desk said they’d send maintenance up and by the time I got back from my evening out, everything was perfect.

A decent place to stay. The employees were kind and friendly. The room was affordable and we'll equipped; there was a big comfy bed, fridge, microwave, and single serve coffee maker and the usual furnishings we're in very nice condition. Unfortunately my stay included an unpleasant odor on my floor. My room had less odor, but it was tolerable. The overall cleanliness of the Hotel interior was not quite up to snuff; crumbs in the hall, trashcans visibly full, one of elevators is off or under repair. My entire room was clean and tidy and I slept well, though the bathroom could have used some general maintenance attention, it just didn't look as nice as the rest of the room. The bar and grill downstairs is quite popular, there were plenty of people having a great time. I skipped the free breakfast because I usually just have coffee instead, and it wasn't bad either. It's not a Five Star hotel but it doesn't claim to be. With a little TLC, the hotel could be great.

I visited the Red Lion Hotel on Dec 20th night/Dec 21st day. The decor is beautiful and my room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. During my stay, there was a maintenance issue and the hot water needed to be turned off for the whole building. Still, they accommodated with periods of time when the hot water would be available. I enjoyed their coffee selection, as they had a Cafe Valet dark roast, which I didn't know Cafe Valet made. All and all, it is a beautiful, clean luxurious hotel and for the price especially, you can't beat it! I will definitely come back again.
